Updates

From the road

  1. Updates will be posted here once the run starts.

The route

Cache Valley to St. George

I start in Cornish, right on the Idaho border, and run south through Cache Valley, Brigham City, Ogden, and Salt Lake City, then through Utah County on the west side of Utah Lake. From there it's Highway 6 to Highway 257, Highway 21, and the Minersville Highway, through Cedar City, Kanarraville, and Leeds, and on to the finish in St. George.

Two people have done this route before me. Mason Wright ran about 421 miles and Adam Burns about 414, and each took roughly 10 days. I think 8 is possible.

Training

No gym

I train with sandbags, playgrounds, hills, and trails. Peak weeks run around 90 to 100 miles.

The soundtrack

Music for the miles

I made two albums leading up to the run: Still I Run and Still, Anyway, the follow-up built as the lead-up to the Traverse. Another album is on the way, with songs to keep me going when it gets hard out there.
