420 miles, north to south across Utah, on foot with a crew. October 10 to 18, 2026, starting on World Mental Health Day.
Finished
On October 18, 2026, I reached St. George in 8 days, 6 hours, and 36 minutes, a new record for this route. My original target was 7 days, 8 hours. Severe illness and wild weather from Hurricane Rachel made the early days of the run very challenging, so I adjusted the schedule to 8 days, 8 hours, and finished ahead of that. Thank you to everyone who followed along, donated, and showed up for Still I Run.
Fuel the cause
I ran 420 miles to raise $25,000 for Still I Run, a national nonprofit that promotes running for mental well-being. Every dollar still helps.

The route
I finished the run on October 18, 2026. This is the route I covered, from Cornish to St. George.
The orange line is the route I ran, and the gray line is the planned route, with the end of each day marked. The trail combines Garmin LiveTrack, from my phone and watch, and my inReach satellite tracker. Open the inReach map →
Updates
The route
I start in Cornish, right on the Idaho border, and run south through Cache Valley, Brigham City, Ogden, and Salt Lake City, then through Utah County on the west side of Utah Lake. From there it's Highway 6 to Highway 257, Highway 21, and the Minersville Highway, through Cedar City, Kanarraville, and Leeds, and on to the finish in St. George.
Two people had done this route before me: Mason Wright and Adam Burns. Mason set the record in the spring of 2025, and Adam chased him down in the fall of 2025 and took it. I finished in 8 days, 6 hours, and 36 minutes, a new record.
I'll be away from Monica and the kids for about a week, so a lot of this run belongs to them too.
The soundtrack
I made two albums leading up to the run: Still I Run and Still, Anyway, the follow-up built as the lead-up to the Traverse. I also released Songs For The Crossing during the run, with songs to keep me going when it got hard out there.
